At Shaun Life Financial, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information of our clients and employees. This policy applies to our employees and any third-party service providers or representatives with whom we contract.
"Personal information" is any information about an identifiable individual. This may include, but is not limited to, information such as name, age, contact details, financial information, and any other data provided to us.
Shaun Medwynter is the appointed Privacy Compliance Officer, responsible for ensuring our compliance with privacy laws and principles.
We collect personal information primarily to provide life insurance products and services, and for administrative purposes.
We obtain consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information, except where legally exempt.
We limit the collection of personal information to what is necessary for the purposes identified.
Personal information is used and disclosed only for the purposes for which it was collected, unless consent is given or as required by law. We retain personal information only as long as necessary.
We strive to keep personal information as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as necessary.
We protect personal information with appropriate security measures against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
Our privacy policies and practices are available to clients upon request.
Upon request, individuals will be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of their personal information and shall be given access to it.
We address any complaints about our compliance with these principles promptly and effectively.
All requests for access to personal information must be made in writing to the Privacy Compliance Officer. We will respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe, not exceeding 30 days. If additional time is required, the individual will be informed within the initial 30-day period. Assistance will be provided to individuals to help them make their access request. Minimal or no cost will be charged for providing access to personal information.
All privacy-related complaints or inquiries should be directed to the Privacy Compliance Officer. Complaints will be acknowledged and investigated promptly. Appropriate measures will be taken if a complaint is found to be justified, including amending policies and procedures if necessary. Individuals will be informed of the outcome of the investigation regarding their complaint.
